Basic Face Walkthrough

sooooooo instead of doing a speed paint today i worked on a rose tutorial, and i did this

i figured if i'm going to practice more then perhaps i could show my basic process

it's nothing fancy- but basically sketch out basic proportions (which i've guided on second panel) then i add basic colors and shading. It went through quite transformation. The nose got larger, mouth wider, chin alittle shorter but no body is exactly as the face measurements say. I did color adjustments via Image>adjustments>color balance. the face tone is midtone and made it more red (a quick and easy way to adjust colors before painting a lot )

i use liquify tool Filter>Liquify quite often to adjust basic edges etc. I use spackled brushes and basic brush to add details. Im still struggling with hair but learning! i did auto levels on the eyes (which are totally unnatural ) but looked cool haha.

eyes might be a bit high up or nose too far down... i seriously tried to measure using grid and measurements came out different everytime. soooo anyways hope this kinda helps in some way. i start school again tues-weds this week yay for productive two weeks off haha. (i did two paintings, worked on commission 90% done, and worked on 2 more paintings, and started a third, and worked on this and another tutorial D:< )

i'm painted out UGH. i'll be having illustrator and typography, color theory (yaaaaay finally understand it haha) and page layout this semester

i basically bounced back and forth between *fdasuarez's paintings and some face porportion charts i dont know how that woman does it!!! but i'm getting there in my own way D:<
